Subject:  OUR PUJA PLANS.....GET TOGETHER,ALUMNI,JUNIORS........

Dear All,

Lot was thought about and a even more was talked about about having a batch 

get together during the Puja holidays.

Everybody is busy shaping up careers and not able to spare time. But 

complements must be given to everybody for at least

writing those mails and thus bringing in us the sense of belongingness for 

the people we had been for 4 whole years in one of the

most important phases of our life. The way things are going we will find 

people in all places..... Bangalore, Mumbai,

Hyderabad, Chennai, California, Cleveland, New Jersey..........except 

Bhubaneswar. But Bhubaneswar ropes in most of the

people during Puja time when it was the time we had in mind for having a get 

together.

Lets have a small informal get together at least during this puja and set 

the ball rolling and we can discuss on setting up a

OEC98 ALUMNI and how we can make the life of our juniors easier by giving 

them direction and most importnatly help them

get jobs.

Dibyendu and Debasis did told me that I will find very less people around 

this time. Lets start with those less people only.

Remember our egroup -- oec98@egroups.com started with only 30 members and it 

is now a 90 member group more than

oec@egroups.com, the egroup for the whole of OEC alumni !!!

I'll be there in Bhubaneswar from 7-13th October. As Dibyendu I (or We 

depending on people if they are agreed to join me!)

will meet our Principal and HODs and try to do the best we can. And plans 

the get together and alumni will start as soon I get

the first buzz on my telephone 400757.

Bye the way, can any of our techy guys set up a website for OEC98 ALUMNI  

where we can have details of all our people

.......who is where, got married!, got kids! etc.

Do give me a call at 400757 and lets put the first stone for Alumni or if 

you have better plans do invite me.

FYI I have resigned from BFL Software and will be joining a new company(yet 

to decide!) in Bangalore on 16th. Meantime I'll cool off in Bangalore and 

probably meet you guys.

So, no more mails at gyan@b... I will be using 

gyanapatra@h... in the meantime.

Subject:  1st Get Together held.......DETAILS....

Hi again,

After passing out the institution since 2 yrs we finally had the 1st get 

together. As debasis said all were tied up with there schedules but all 

those we met at Nicco Park today had fabulous time and  swear you all missed 

it.

Here goes the details.....

Each one gave a big stare saying 'pura phulli galuni... chinhi houni... 

khalli technical katha kohuchu......'. It was an usual OEC khatti especially 

the topics were bit different. First half an hr went on who has added up how 

much weight ...some proportionately and some at specific areas!!! After a 

short round up of who's where the discussion took turn to who's got married 

to whom .......had kids! (its obvious when you have more than 7 girls ...I 

mean women!) Narayani came all the way from Cuttack and Debashis Sahu(EN) 

bunked his presentation especially to attend this.

The constraint that we cannot have most of the people at Bbsr at the same 

time led us to the decision that we should have get together's at all major 

cities Blore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Dehli, Pune, California, New Jersey 

simultaniously in the 1st fortnight of October since people will be bit 

relaxed and find a couple of holidays. That seems to be aplausible idea. But 

that doesn't stop us from having get togethers whenever we have sizable 

number.

As far as helping the juniors concerned all of us should have a talk to the 

recruiting managers regarding visits to our campus and a latest list of 

whoo's where should be sent to the juniors.

Ramesh, Ellora, Pranati(chief architect in communicating to people regarding 

this), Jagannath, Nibedita, Devasis Sahu, Narayani, Luna.......and...all 

were there.

In the end played some kiddie games, had cold drinks, chicken rolls, (this 

is what debasis meant by goriest details....i hope!)

No problem if you weren't there... but since this get together has started 

we will keep meeting each other at least post mails and of course try to 

make it to the next get together in Oct 2001!

Tarini, Zulu, Lopa, Dibby, Krishna.... thanks to all of you for your 

enthusiasm.

And onething I must say from what I got from the meeting is that most of us 

read the mails posted to the oec98 egroup although you actually dont get a 

feedback.

Feel nice to be together.
