Subject:  oec98 completes 2nd year of conception...

dear all,

cheers !! courtesy the group effort, couple of days ago oec98

completed its 2nd birth anniversary. currently there are more than 110

members with postings at an average of 20 per month, bouncing status

of mail id's  is almost nil. thanx to gyans efforts things r ticking

consistently with some nice mails recently from bhakta, debasis, gyan,

the isro launch, solns to technical problems, marriage announcements ,

jobs, etc...

note that oec98 is the "OFFICIAL" mail id of the 98 batch, as tarini

said once. it started with an intention to continue in the long run

and help us stay together. so while sending mails we should try to

abide by the rules and regulations the term "OFFICIAL" implicitly

states. its painful for the moderator to go through each and every

mail, though gyan manages it somehow. we have an intention to stop all

moderations and make it totally free. 2 yrs of guarding is enuf, why

should gyan take extra pains ?

now that the group id has matured, its high time we should have a web

page of our own also. somebody should shoulder the job, myself and

dilip started once, then he left pune and the work stopped. many of us

have their own beautiful web pages, they can take the initiative.

ps : plz avoid personal mails starting with "dear xyz....".  recently

it has created perturbations at several corners though everybody

thinks keeping quiet is the best solution as oec98 has gone through

several such over-enthusiasms with the addition of every new member.

earlier it used to be the same kind of threat from forwarded jokes and

virus alerts.

wish we all have another successful year

hey buddies ,

This also reminds me that we have been apart for

almost 3 years and i sense -- still there is some

animosity left amongst us :( ..petty ones though.)

I'll be the happiest if i am proven wrong :)

With each passing year we are going more n more apart

.

(physically ofcourse) .We have guys in oec98 who get

married in the US of A .We have guys who are almost

next to the poles (one of is me ;-) )We have guys in

all the continents..(Asia included ;)) ....

We still have guys who wish to be bachelors/spinsters

till they die. We have parents/yet-to-beparents in

oec98 . We have this in oec98 . We have that in oec98.

And we have what-not in oec98 !!!!!

This year we try to increase the membership .There are

guys if asked once can join/rejoin the family ! .This

year we try to help members send more and more mails

to us . And as we dibby points out we don't address

the mails to one of us ..rather it sud be to oec98 !

I can understand the excitement of a new member but he

sud also exercise some constraint :)

Let us try to make oec98 more compact and a more warm

place :)

kudos to all of us .
